Express Entry(PR)

Those in search of a better quality of life, job opportunities, trade avenues and scope for personal and professional growth tend to place Canada at the top of their lists. For Indians applying for a Permanent Residency Visa, Canada is the most sought after destination. The Permanent Residency Visa is also one of the most popular immigration visas. The Canadian government has set a target of 330,000 immigrants for 2019 making this a very important window of opportunity time-frame for those who have set their sights on Canada.

The Permanent Residency Visa gives the holder the right to live and work in Canada for an indefinite time period. The foreign national must apply to Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada to become a permanent resident. This status once procured gives the holder various rights and responsibilities as those of Canadian citizens such as the right to live, work and study in Canada. After living in Canada for a period of time, the permanent resident can apply for Canadian citizenship.

To introduce global talent into the country, Canada introduced the Express Entry Program which falls under the Permanent Residency heading. This fast-track, transparent system was started in 2015. Deserving, skilled immigrants are selected and nominated through a point based Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The Federal system of CRS considers credentials like age, educational qualification, work experience and skills, language proficiency especially in English and French etc.

To qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, applicants should have 67 points. These points are linked to four factors, namely, education, language ability, work experience and age.

Education: Highest level of education successfully completed. Language ability: Proficiency in French or English to include ability to speak, write and read. Work experience: Number of years the applicant has worked full time in a high skilled position. Age: Applicant’s age at the time of documentation process.

On eligibility intimation, the applicant must collect the documents required in the Express Entry Pool from the respective institutions. These documents should be in order and complete for submission.

The profile can be submitted to the Express Entry Pool on completion of documentation and the scoring of adequate CRS points as per the requirement.

Candidates with the highest scores in the pool receive Invitations to Apply (ITA). The applicant has 60 days from the time ITA is issued to submit the application for permanent residence.
